End of October we returned home from the Motorhome & Caravan Show at the NEC in Birmingham and are back in our office in Germany. We would like to thank everyone who came to see us at our stand. We had many good conversations with potential customers and a lot of our existing customers also visited us on our stand and even arranged some group reunions. We also met new customers that had already booked a tour for 2020 allowing us to put a face to the name. As a result of the show our tours are filling up quickly and we are now busy sending out booking confirmations. We are looking forward to an exciting 2020!

We are sure many of you are avid readers of the MMM. On page 80 of the November issue, currently on sale, you can find an article called Delightful Danube. As you probably already know, we are also offering a new tour in 2020 called “Delightful Danube”, but we concentrate on a different stretch of this lovely river to the area described in the article. Nevertheless the article describes many beautiful places we visit on some of our other tours. For example, the couple writing the article in the MMM make their first stop close to the historic city of Trier on the Moselle, which we visit during our “Majestic Rhine & Moselle Rivers” tour and where we spend one night at a vineyard close to the city centre and enjoy a wine tasting and meal. They then head for the Black Forest to visit the source of the Danube, stopping at many places you can also see on our “Breathtaking Black Forest” tour, for example Triberg, with Germany’s highest waterfalls and of course the cake shop that claims to have invented the Black Forest Gateau. Many of our customers on our Black Forest tour in previous years also visited Donaueschingen, to see the source of the Danube.

Our “Delightful Danube” tour starts close to Passau, the last major city on the Danube in Southeast Germany. From there we follow the Danube through Austria passing the Engeszell abbey, famous for its liqueurs, cheese and beer, and the Schlögener Schlinge, the natural spectacle where the Danube winds itself narrowly around the Schlögenberg Mountain. We continue along the Danube and follow the dramatic stretch of river between Krems an der Donau and Melk, a UNESCO World Heritage Site called the Wachau, and characterised by vineyards, forested slopes, wine-producing villages and imposing fortresses at nearly every bend. We visit Vienna, renowned for its imperial palaces, grandiose buildings and old-world glamour and have two whole days to explore this wonderful city and its fascinating history and culture. The tour ends in Budapest, the vibrant capital city of Hungary that prides itself on its breath-taking architecture, photogenic river scenery, magnificent historic spas and outstanding cultural life. At the end of the tour you can either start your return journey travelling through Austria, Germany and Belgium, or you can decide to also join our “Captivating Croatia” tour, which starts two days later with the welcome dinner close to Porec on the Istrian Peninsula!
