Three weeks ago we returned from our “Majestic Rhine & Moselle Rivers” tour, the last tour before the summer holidays in July and August.
We had a very enjoyable trip travelling in almost perfect weather along the most beautiful parts of the Rhine and Moselle rivers with a group of 24 friendly and enthusiastic people. We were able to watch the fireworks during Rhine in Flames, one of the highlights every year on this tour, from the open deck of our boat on a perfect summer evening. Later during the tour the group also enjoyed our stay at the vineyard on the Moselle. After visiting the wine cellar a delicious meal was prepared for us, and we tried many of the excellent wines produced at the vineyard.
After the tour finished some of the group were lucky not to have to rush back to the UK, so we gave them some suggestions on what they could visit on their journey home. Several went to see the Menin Gate in Ypres and witnessed the moving Last Post ceremony which takes place every evening at 8pm. Some stayed longer in Germany and we recommended a visit to the Technik Museum in Speyer and/or the Motor-Sport-Museum next to the Hockenheim Ring. Some lucky people even managed to get tickets for the German Grand Prix in Hockenheim, which took place the following weekend, and saw Lewis Hamilton beat Sebastian Vettel!
In our last newsletter we informed you that we had finalised all details on our 2019 touring programme and that all information could now be found on our website. We are overwhelmed to have received so many bookings that some of the tours are already half full! We are now looking forward to the Western Motorhome show in Malvern, which takes place from 17th – 19th August, in less than a week, where we will present our 2019 touring programme. We look forward to meeting there many of our customers, past and present, and any one who may still be undecided about joining an escorted tour. We still have a couple of places left on the remaining tours for this year. There is only one week left to book our two week “Impressive Italian Lakes & Cities” tour which starts on 16th September.
